SPARK YOUR CHILD’S CREATIVITY WITH ARTS CLASSES FOR 3 TO 17 YEAR OLDS
September 3, 2003

MONTREAL - The Saidye Bronfman Centre for the Arts Youth Institute offers exciting visual and performing arts courses for children and teens from 3 to 17 years of age, running from October to December, 2003. Don’t miss your chance to enroll in the usual wide variety of classes such as: Mixed Media, Painting and Drawing, Comics and Cartooning, Photography, Theatre, and Hip Hop Dance. Please note the following new classes featured in this fall’s program: Child and Parent, Sculpture, Ceramics, Jewelry Making, and Music & Movement, in addition to two new teen workshops in Acrylic and Watercolour Painting!

Expose your child to the arts early, beginning at the age of 3 with Christina Kee’s Child & Parent visual art adventure. A new faculty member, Lisa Waite will introduce 5 to 7 year olds to the limitless possibilities of mixed media, through instruction of various techniques in printmaking, ceramics, and collage. The ever popular Hip Hop class for 7 to 9 year olds led by Danielle Rankin will teach your child how to move with funk and style as well as upbeat and engaging dance combinations. 10 to 12 year olds can follow Kelly Mcdonald’s course designed to encourage the imagination and discover Art as Abstraction. For those seeking to build a foundation for a professional acting career, or those coming to have fun, another new faculty member, Kalie Rae has a course for you exploring the world of improvisational theatre, scene study, and character development...

All of these courses and more are offered at the Youth Institute. Certainly there is a class that will entice your child.

Back by popular demand, the successful School Break Arts Escape program will return during the winter holiday period in December, 2003. As always, we will offer full and half-day options in both visual and performing arts to accommodate all parents’ needs.
