88.5 CBC Radio One Presents Sunday-@-the Segal with LtCol (Ret) RJ Jarymowycz OMM CD PhD
September 2008

CBC Radio One
Presents

Sunday-@-the Segal

A series of intimate conversation and riveting lectures at
The Leanor and Alvin Segal Theatre

With LtCol (Ret) RJ Jarymowycz OMM CD PhD

Don't miss the always-interesting Sunday-@-the-Segal for the upcoming production, Dangerous Liaisons, as we welcome Professor Jarymowycz, one of the leading military educators in Canada on tactics and strategy. Pierre Choderlos de Laclos (1741-1803) was a military man, rising to the rank of artillery general. Characters in his novel, Les Liaisons dangereuses, employ complex military tactics in their relationships with one another.
In addition to being extremely knowledgeable about military history, Professor Jarymowycz is extremely funny and congenial. This will be a fascinating lecture, not to be missed.

Roman Johann Jarymowycz is a lecturer at the Royal Military College of Canada, The Canadian Staff College in Toronto (CFC) and professor of history at Norwich University. He commanded The Royal Canadian Hussars, an armoured cavalry regiment, and retired as Dean of the Canadian Forces Militia Command and Staff College. Jarymowycz has assisted and written for the CBC in several dramatic documentaries including The Killing Ground; The Horror and the Valor (Normandy); The Great War and, (currently in production) Quebec 1759. As an author, he has published articles and books specializing in the Operational Art. Praeger published his most recent work, Cavalry, from Hoof to Track in December 2007. The OMM after his name means Order of Military Merit -- which is the Army's version of OC. It is one of the highest honours they have.
