Sunday-@-the Segal
A series of intimate conversation and riveting lectures at The Leanor and Alvin Segal Theatre

with Nahma Sandrow
Continuing our terrific season at The Segal showcasing various musical genres-
Jazz in The Satchmo’ Suite, Charlotte von Mahlsdorf’s antique
recordings in I Am My Own Wife and the stirring beauty of Mozart in Amadeus
- we now offer the uplifting Klezmer of The Dora Wasserman’s Yiddish Theatre’s
Those Were the Days. This lively musical revue is an award-winning song
and dance extravaganza that crosses age, cultural and linguistic barriers.
Don't miss this vibrant edition of Sunday-@-the-Segal for the upcoming
production of Those Were the Days as we welcome author and playwright
Nahma Sandrow. Ms Sandrow will offer a dynamic talk on Vagabond Stars: A History
of the Yiddish Theater.
Nahma Sandrow, author of the definitive Vagabond Stars: A World History
of Yiddish Theater and 'God, Man, and Devil': Yiddish Plays
in Translation, has also written two award winning off-Broadway musicals
based on Yiddish theatre material. She has written books, articles, and reviews
on Yiddish, American ethnic and other aspects of theatre and theatre history,
and has lectured at Harvard, Brown, Oxford, the Smithsonian, the Young Directors
