Now housed at the Saidye ‘B’ Off Centre, in partnership with the Saidye Bronfman Centre for the Arts, Gravy Bath Productions is constantly evolving and exploring, searching for new ways to tap into the Theatre of the Imagination. Selected past productions include: The New Classical Theatre Festival’s Coriolanus and The Portrait of Dorian Gray; Ugly, Henry. Octobre. 1970., Top Gun Circus, Tempest: Forecast Disorder and Critic.
DE PROFUNDIS by Oscar Wilde, adapted and directed by Ivana Shein, designed by Lyne Paquette and performed by Don Anderson, is about the last letter written from prison when Oscar Wilde was at his lowest of times, where desperation, rage, longing and insanity are the only visitors in his dark, desolate cell. The walls themselves seem to talk to him, and the shadows at night are finding their way towards daytime shifts. His only salvation is to address the world through a letter to his lover. Welcome to the world De Profundis.
