Faux Finish Workshop

Discover the products, the tools and the techniques used in decorating walls and objects, as well as design concepts, which will help you achieve satisfying results. Use paints and glazes for sponging and ragging as well as creating faux marble and wood, and many other effects.

This workshop will cover a brief introduction on the history and collection of antiques, collectibles and reproductions. The main focus of this workshop will be the art of bringing the damaged items back to their original condition. The differences and consequences of restoration, refurbishing or refinishing as viewed in beauty, historical value, monetary value and investment value will be explored.

Learn the time-honored art of cutting fancy papers and adhering them to objects, which we will turn into creative projects. Some ideas for projects are boxes, frames, planters, plates, light switches, etc. The students will learn to prepare, design, cut, glue, seal, crackle and gild.
