as ROSCO, ETC, DMG etc. The purpose of these demonstrations is to keep the professional
practitioner up to date on the latest technologies available in the industry

THEATRE PRODUCTION – TAPS (public – ages 14-17) Instructor:

INTENSIVE 3-YEAR PROGRAM FOR SECONDARY III-IV-V: TAPS – THEATRE ARTS
PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS A performance is much more than its actors. If not for
everything that goes on behind the stage, actors wouldn’t have much to
work with. The first year of this intensive three-year program offers an introduction
to the world of performing arts in Montreal’s famed Leanor & Alvin
Segal Theatre. Students will work together with the professionals at the theatre
in order to help: • Create lighting and sound design • Build sets,
props and costumes • Use new technology to design special effects for
the stage • Learn about the professional industry and how to run a theatre
or production company – you become the director, producer, artistic designer,
box office manager, communications and public relations specialist. In years
2 and 3, students will have the opportunity to specialize in their chosen area
of interest. This course can accommodate a maximum of six students and requires
an application and interview. All the programs will culminate in a final performance
or screening in the Segal Centre’s new performance spaces. NOTE: Courses
may include additional hours.
